Just announced – Architect Tim Quigley will give a brief talk and answer questions about John Howe at 6:15pm. Tim Quigley is a co-author of John H. Howe, Architect (and past Docomomo US/MN board member!) John Howe was a principle draftsperson to Frank Lloyd Wright, and continued the evolution of the Prairie School of architecture in the 1970s and 80s through his own private practice. Sited on a sloped 5-acre lot outside of downtown Rochester, this home extends from the wooded hillside. The long eaves of the roofline offer privacy, while the home's large deck and cascading patios truly connect the interior to the outside landscape. An addition including a covered breezeway and detached garage was completed by the architect in the 1980s. Inside you will find 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and an absolutely stunning double sided brick fireplace that is the centerpiece of the open living spaces. Built-ins and closets traverse the property leaving no space unused. The original details of this home have been impeccably maintained by the current owner! |
