DURABILITY ASSESSMENTS OF MODERN CONCRETE ICONS - PREDICTING PERFORMANCE FOR A PRO-ACTIVE REPAIR APPROACH

Gina Crevello, MSc.
The durability of concrete structures is a well-established field of study amongst European and British engineers. This paper will illustrate how durability modeling has been used on modern concrete icons and how by understanding the conditions which impact corrosion, the team can move from a reactive approach to a proactive approach. This philosophy, which forecasts damage to the structure, is meant to allow the team to intervene prior to damage occurring.
