E.1027: Eileen Gray and the House by the Sea is a visually rich and thought-provoking documentary that invites viewers into Gray’s creative world and the story of her groundbreaking house on the French Riviera. More than an architectural film, it is a meditation on authorship, gender, power, and the lasting impact of modern design. These themes closely align with Docomomo’s mission to document, advocate for, and conserve the Modern Movement. Directed by Beatrice Minger and Christoph Schaub, this 2024 Swiss documentary reexamines Gray’s legacy and restores rightful attention to her radical vision and enduring influence. About the Presenters / Filmmakers:

Eric Mueller is a Minneapolis-based artist, photographer, and teacher. Known for his graphic style and strength in composition, his work has been exhibited in dozens of shows including the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, the Plains Art Museum, the Devos Art Museum, the Midwest Center for Photography, Head On Photo Festival, and the Columbus Museum of Art. He has been recognized with awards by American Photography, The Photo Review, the MIRA Mobile Prize, the iPhone Photography Awards, and the Mobile Photography Awards. His photo book, Family Resemblance, was published by Daylight Books in 2020. |

Currently working on archiving the history of Super8 films, Sheryl Mousley was Senior Curator, Moving Image at the Walker Art Center (1998-2020) where she programmed contemporary films, filmmaker conversations/retrospectives, artist-made cinema and gallery exhibitions. She oversaw Walker’s Moving Image Collection and created the Mediatheque, a viewing space for access to the history of film and video. Prior to the Walker she was Director of Programming Review for public television’s ITVS (1990-1996), taught film at Minneapolis College of Art and Design (1987-89), worked locally and internationally in film production (1983-1998), and served as Director of Education at the innovative, community-based media art center Film in the Cities (1977-1983). |

Beatrice Minger (1980) is a Zurich-based writer and director. She studied film, German studies, and modern history, and worked on various productions as assistant director and script supervisor, also directing short films. Her debut feature E.1027 (2024), a hybrid documentary on Eileen Gray, toured international festivals with sales to seven countries. Currently she is financing her first fiction feature, Undercurrents, and developing new projects. |
