Tour Day 2024 – Working Cooperatively: A Campus Tour with Land O' Lakes! – Saturday, October 19, 2024

Picture
Get TICKETS via EVENTBRITE

Join Docomomo US/MN on a tour of the Land O' Lakes Corporate Headquarters, with initial campus elements designed by Architectural Alliance, and the recipient of the 2013 AIA Minnesota 25-Year Award.

The headquarters is located on a 50-acre site in Arden Hills and provides a home to the Fortune 500 company. A 2018 campus expansion by Perkins&Will eliminated the need to lease nearby office buildings, retooled the existing campus buildings, and refocused the campus around a central, open courtyard.

The tour will start in the dramatic 3-story lobby and explore how the campus has changed and adapted to current ways of working, while building on a tradition sustainable building practices and community building.

Date: Saturday, October 19, 2024
Tour: 1pm; Reception to follow.

Tickets for Docomomo US Members are Free for this event.
Member registration opens on Thursday October 3 via Eventbrite.

General Admission tickets go on sale Tuesday October 8:
Adults – $25
Students (age 13+) – $15

About Docomomo US Tour Day:
The only national program of its kind, Tour Day is devoted to the appreciation of modern architecture in the United States. Tours and events focused on architecture and design of the Modern Movement are hosted, coast-to-coast, by Docomomo US chapters, partners, and leading voices in preservation.

This year's thematic focus is Corporate Campuses. Last year we explored suburban development’s impact on our communities as a component of our Revisiting Urban Renewal theme. The conversations we had were often challenging and many touched on highway development and how car culture impacted communities and radically changed our built environment. In 2024, we will continue that exploration by following where some of those highways lead – to suburban corporate campuses – and examine their impact on the style, development, and furthering of Modern architecture in the United States.

Share your Tour Day experience using #TourDay2024 and #ModernCorporateCampus.
